I had gone to LA with my buddy Don on the metrolink using their killer $10 for the whole weekend pass. Don and I went later in the day on saturday and got some ok shots but we quickly ran out of light. The next day I recycled Dons pass and went with Vanessa from nessalovesmakeup.com. We had a nice adventure and I had a great weekend!

Photo Set: Los Angeles Auto Show
Saturday morning I got to finally check out the LA Auto Show. I took my Nikon D5000 with the 35mm lens and my Panasonic LX5 with the Wide angle lens. . . . Im so glad I took the wide angle lens since their was very little room to stand back to get the car in full frame without someone walking into the shot. With the wide angle lens i was able to shoot the cars from a relatively close distance while everyone else was struggling with their zoom lenses and iPhones. Here are the pictures in gallery format.
Firmware on Panasonic Lumix Lx5
I updated the firmware on my Lumix lx5 to version 2.0 and they added a tilt shift mode. It’s pretty damn cool. I can’t wait to take the camera out to really test it out. It also fixed some auto focus timing issues and memory. Here are some told shift sample shots.

Hike To Etiwanda Falls
Hit up the Etiwanda trail this afternoon and headed up to the Etiwanda falls. I had never been and a couple of friends and I met up and conquered the fairly easy hike. It would make for an awesome picnic date (hint hint) area. Anyways here are some photos. (snapped on an iphone4 with the best camera+ app and auto stitch app)

I was lucky enough to be invited to visit San Francisco for the 2nd time this year. My friend Jackie invited me on the trip she was planning to my favorite city as she was taking her boyfriend Hugo for Fathers day weekend. I was the unofficial guide since I had just visited the city in March. I Showed them around the city including Patxis Pizza, Pearls Deluxe burgers, Alcatraz, The Wharf, Union Square, The Castro and we rode the cable cars and street cars around like the locals. All in all they told me they had a great time and cant wait to go back! As for me I will be heading back in September to see Brand New 1 week after my 27th Birthday. I CANT WAIT! Whats your favorite San Francisco memory/eatery?

Trip to Downtown Los Angeles by Rail
Yesterday Javi, Yeni and I hit up downtown LA for a little food/shopping adventure. We hit up Olvera St. Little Tokyo, Fashion District, Santee Alleys, all on foot! it was a pretty long day, but we had fun. I also finally got to try Orochon Noodle and im definitely going back soon. We got there by train and now Im thinking why I didn’t drink mass quantities of beer (besides the fact that we walked 6 miles).
Equipment Upgrade
So normally I shoot with a Nikon D5000 with a 35mm f1.8 lens. I love the camera but I hate carrying it around all the time. So my solution was to buy a point and shoot that still delivered a great quality picture. After some deliberating and research I set on the Panasonic Lumix DMC LX5. It’s an almost identical camera when compared to the Leica dlux5, but with a cheaper price point. Here are some iPhone snapped shots of the lx5. Hopefully a couple more blog posts in the coming 2 weeks. I have a San Francisco trip next weekend that I’m super excited about!
